We’re sure you’ve forgotten about this device over the last year. Here’s a refresher: the Polaroid Socialmatic is a camera running Android that’s meant to take, share and print photos instantly. It’s a re-imagining of the old instant cameras, with printing done in ink-free paper like it should be. However, this behemoth finally has a general release date!
This device will feature two cameras (one 14 megapixel and one 2 megapixel), a 4.5-inch touchscreen display, 4GB of storage with a microSD slot for expansion, built in WiFi, and of course, our favorite open source OS will be running it all.
I’m not sure how to feel about this device, but I can imagine it won’t gain too much traction out there. However, if you’d like to buy it, Polaroid says the device will be releasing this fall, so the wait won’t be too much longer. Are you excited for such a device, or do you think it’ll be just another flop? Leave a comment!
