To kickoff their stay in Las Vegas for CES, Orbotix has unveiled its new Sphero 2B device. Unlike the Sphero 2.0, the 2B is essentially a cylinder with wheels rather than an orb. The great thing about this new device is its price. For just $100, users can have a little device to roll around and do tricks — all controlled by a smartphone. The rugged design allows users to navigate wildly without worrying about breaking the device. At launch, Sphero plans on adding IR built-in, more lighting effects, and smoother tires. With a lower than usual price, the company is confident that consumers will purchase more than one Sphero 2B at the time of their initial purchase.
