OnePlus

The folks that walked away from Oppo started up manufacturer ‘OnePlus,” shortly after leaving their previous jobs. Today, the company announced that it will be finally producing its first device, which will run a version of CyanogenMod and will be available in the first half of 2014 in “select markets.”

The goal is to “put the best software on the best hardware.”

The company won’t simply be creating the device and then loading up CyanogenMod on it— the company will apparently be getting tons of input on the hardware from the CM team, which is always a good sign.

The phone, expected to be called the OnePlus One, and should also have some extra software features built-in.

Details are a bit shady on this one but expect more to come out in the near future.
