After being leaked only a few days ago, the LG Life Band Touch wearable device has been confirmed by the company in a press release on its Korean website.


The company has posted several details regarding its CES 2014 announcements, revealing in the process that the LG Life Band Touch is going to be a health wristband that will let users keep track of their workouts.


The device will use Bluetooth 4.0 to connect to Android and iOS devices, and will have a fitness and diet companion app. The LG Band Touch will track of movement and count number of steps, distance and calorie consumption.


Furthermore, the wearable device will also have some special earphones – the Heart Rate Earphone – a new product that will reportedly use an optical sensor technology to monitor blood flow in the ear and determine the heart rate.

In addition to health-related features, the LG Life Band Touch will also provide call notifications and let users manage their music playback right on the device – the wearable gadget will have a LED color screen. Finally, we’re looking at a water resistant device here, that will be available in black, according to the press materials.
