Unlike the basic Acer Iconia B1-720 aimed at the very low end of the tablet market, Acer does hope to move up the chain a little bit with another refreshed Iconia device for 2014, the Acer Iconia A1-830. The Iconia A1 comes with a 7.9-inch screen running at 1366×768 resolution and Android KitKat 4.2 out of the box. Like the Iconia B1, no additional UI is laid on top of Android. Acer anticipates an upgrade will be available shortly after the device is released later this month to a newer version of Android. To help justify the $149 price point, Acer constructed the Iconia A1 with an aluminum back.
The Iconia A1 is still far from the top of the line when it comes to tablet devices, but for a basic unit at a low price point, this could be the ticket for some consumers. We have a hands on video after the break. Be sure to keep an eye on TalkAndroid for our continuing CES 2014 coverage.
